The wife of Asanakpo, Mrs Christabel Fome Asanakpo has honoured her darling husband with a surprise birthday party as Hon. Lucky Oyinkuro Asanakpo, the acting Chairman of Bayelsa State Volunteers clocks another year.
The well attended party which was kept away from the chairman to make the element of surprise complete took place at the temporary office of the agency yesterday.
Speaking at the occasion, Mrs Asanakpo whose voice was laden with emotion said, “I know it is never your intention to mark your birthday this year with the usual funfair rather your intention is use the occasion for sober reflection but I thought it would be wise to ambush you with a surprise party as a way of expressing my unreserved love for you.”
“Kindly allow me to use this auspicious occasion to fully express my candid love for you, my darling husband. You mean so much to me and the children. Indeed, you’re a man sent to me from heaven. I cherish your presence and I can’t get tired of saying I love you again and again.”
Enthused by the atmosphere of love and camaraderie and loyalty, the obviously elated chairman could not conceal his emotions either as he expressed his profound gratitude to his wife and some members of his inner circle who organised the pleasant coup to honour him for once.
He was so philosophical, attributing his journey of life to the grace of God. Without which he would not be where he is today.
He assured his wife that he would continually be loyal to his family and to God almighty for the gift of life and sound health.
Hon. Asanakpo thanked his wife for her support and love through the years even when it was not convinient for her to do so due to the demands of his duties in the office, yet she was always there for him as a pillar of support.
The brief party was witnessed by members of the management team including the Secretary of the agency, Hon. Ifiemi Ebite, a radio presenter, Mr Izonebi Oyintunimibofa, Governor Senior Special Assistants, Coordinator Centre for Youth Development, Hon. Bibiyano Oweifa. Also present was Hon. Doubiye Alagba, the acting Chairman of Bayelsa State Vigilante services and his staff who added glamour to the event.
