The Governor of Jigawa State, Muhammad Badaru, has promised that the Northern part of the country will repay the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for what he has done for them.
The governor made the promise while welcoming the APC flagbearer to the commissioning of APC campaign offices in the state on Saturday in Kano.
According to Track News, Tinubu was greeted at Kano’s Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport by some Northern APC governors and thousands of supporters.
Addressing party supporters, Badaru stated that Tinubu is the sole supporter of the five Northern presidential candidates.
He revealed that the former Lagos state governor was of great assistance to Shehu Shagari, Umar Musa Yar’adua, Atiku Abubakar, Nuhu Ribadu, and President Muhammadu Buhari during their previous presidential campaigns.
Badaru argued that it is past time to repay Tinubu for his service to the North.
“Tinubu is the only friend of the north,” he said, adding that he supported five different northern presidential candidates, including Shehu Shagari, Umar Musa Yar’adua, Atiku Abubakar, Nuhu Ribadu, and President Muhammadu Buhari.
“So it is time for retaliation, and we are prepared; we are honest people who value keeping our promises, and we are prepared to compensate you for what you have done for the North.”
The governor urged Northerners to come out in force to support Tinubu.
