Bandits kill 3, kidnap 20 in hometown of governor of Zamfara

TRACKING>>Bandits have attacked Maradun local government which is the hometown of Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State.

The attack left 3 persons dead while about 20 were kidnapped by the bandits. Also, 500 cattle were stolen during the attack that happened few days after the governor was away in Dubai to seek solution to the bandit crisis rocking his State.

The chairman of the local government, Ahmed Abubakar stated that an attack was carried out last week Monday on Faru village, another on Bachiri on Saturday before a Sunday attack on Gama Giwa village.

Abubakar said, “My local government is under siege. They are attacking our communities and villages. Virtually every day and the military manpower cannot overpower these people.

“We record between four and five attacks on a weekly basis. People are dying. Others are being kidnapped because the security forces are not well-equipped to fight these people.”
