Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has approved N872 million as counterpart funding to boost the state’s primary healthcare sector.

Speaking at a primary healthcare task force meeting on Tuesday, Governor Mohammed—represented by his deputy, Auwal Jatau—announced that N261.7 million has already been disbursed to the Bauchi State Primary Healthcare Board. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving access to quality healthcare, enhancing infrastructure, and supporting frontline workers across the state.

He commended health workers and volunteers for their dedication, noting that their efforts have been pivotal in advancing healthcare delivery.

Jatau emphasized the government’s determination to achieve Universal Health Coverage and thanked development partners for their technical and financial support, urging continued collaboration for a healthier Bauchi.

Also speaking, the Emir of Dass and co-chair of the state task force, Usman Bilyaminu, praised the progress made in implementing healthcare programs statewide.
