Bayelsa Health Commissioner Joins Minister For Health, Attends Health Sector Joint Annual Meeting in FCT
The Commissioner Ministry of Health Bayelsa State, Prof. Seiyefa Brisibe joined the Coordinating Minister for Health Federal Republic of Nigeria, Prof. Alli Pate and attended the 2024 Health Sector Joint Annual Review/Meeting in Abuja yesterday.
The Joint Annual Review(JAR) is a platform to achieve the “One Report and One Conversation” principles of the Sector Wide Approach (SWAp) to foster accountability, strengthen collaboration, and review progress in implementing Nigeria’s Health Sector Strategic Blueprint (2023- 2026), which aims to save lives, reduce physical and financial pain, and produce health for all Nigerians.
Prof. Brisibe at the live panel with other dignitaries shared great plans and ways to providing better health care in support of the Minister for Health, Prof. Alli Pate and the Governor, of Bayelsa State, Sen. Douye Diri.
Prof. Brisibe featured at the panel discussions showcased the efforts and milestones achieved by the Prosperity Government and called for partnerships in fostering a Robust Health care in the A.S.S.U.R.E.D Agenda led by His Excellency Senator Douye Diri, the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State in great service and benefit to the people across the nation.
Dignitaries commend and applauded the efforts and milestones achieved so far by the Governor of Bayelsa State, Sen. Douye Diri as Prof. Brisibe emphasized.
Key events were the presentation of the State of Health Report 2024, launching of the Maternal Mortality Reduction Innovations and Programme (MAMII) in which Free Caesarean Surgeries are to be provided for pregnant women, launching of the Nigeria’s first-ever Climate Change Health Vulnerability and Adaptation Assessment Report 2024 and development of a Communique of Commitment and a Call to action.
Key Participants were, Coordinating Minister for Health and Social Welfare, Hon. Minister for Environment, Minister for State for Health and Social Welfare, Former Minister for Health, Prof. Onyebuchi, Chairman, Senate House Committee on Health, NGF Representative, All Honorable Commissioners for Health, Permanent Secretaries of Ministries, and Directors of Health Planning Research and Statistics of the Ministries of Health in the country, Bayelsa State was represented by Hon. Commissioner, Ministry of Health, Permanent Secretary and two officials of the Ministry of Health.
