-Bayelsans are gearing up for the forthcoming senatorial elections in the state

– Presently, the senatorial seats of Bayelsa Central and West Senatorial districts are vacant

– Supporters of David Lyon and Seriake Dickson are already campaigning for the duo in their respective senatorial districts

TRACKING_____The sacked governor-elect of Bayelsa, David Lyon and the immediate past governor of the state, Seriake Dickson, might be on their way to the Nigerian Senate.

A report by TrackNews indicates that supporters of the duo are already making efforts to ensure that they contest the elections.

Presently, the senatorial seats of Bayelsa Central and West Senatorial districts are vacant due to the swearing-in of the former occupants, Senator Douye Diri and Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo as governor and deputy governor of the state respectively.

While Lyon is eligible to contest for the Bayelsa Central seat, Dickson is eligible to contest in Bayelsa West senatorial district.

Already, some supporters of Dickson have taken to the social media calling on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to give the former governor an unchallenged ticket to fill the vacant position of Bayelsa West.

Also, supporters of Lyon are campaigning for him to step into the seat of Governor Douye Diri in the Senate.

Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has warned the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to call its Bayelsa state spokesperson to order and stop fabricating lies against its leaders.

The APC also called on the security agencies to note the lies being peddling by Godspower Keku, who is the secretary of the Bayelsa state chapter of the PDP.

The APC’s deputy national publicity secretary, Mr Yekini Nabena, said the caution becomes necessary because of some unguarded statements made by Keku recently.
