‘I’m Still Being Treated Of Poison’

Meanwhile, veteran Nollywood actor, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, has said that he is very careful when he meets up with people he is not familiar with.

Ibru stated this during an interview with Sunday Scoop.

Recall that the actor, on several occasions, has reported that he was poisoned.

Shedding more light on the unfortunate incident, Ibu stated he is now careful because he later discovered that it was someone he had helped in the past that poisoned him.

He explained that he is still being treated for the last poisoning saga he suffered from.

He said: “If not for God, the result would have been bad. As I speak with you now, I am still being treated somewhere in Guzape, Abuja.”

The actor went on to urge the Federal government to put security measures in place to guarantee the safety of filmmakers.

He said, “I expect the Federal Government to act on this. Whether we like it or not, we (actors) are serving the government. The movies we make are for the benefit of the general public. If the government wants to better protect us, they can do it.”
