In a landmark gesture of service to humanity and in loving memory of his late brother, Prince Ebimieowei Aganaba, Engr. Prince Preye Aganaba, today, officially handed over a newly constructed and fully furnished Primary Health Care Centre to the people of Ward 1, Odi North, in Odi Community, Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
The ultramodern health facility, named “Prince Ebimieowei Aganaba Primary Health Care Centre”, stands as a testament to Engr. Aganaba’s unwavering commitment to grassroots development, social impact, and accessible healthcare. The centre boasts cutting-edge amenities including uninterrupted 24-hour solar-powered electricity, potable water supply, essential medical equipment, consultation rooms, patient wards, and other critical installations necessary for quality primary healthcare service delivery.
The commissioning ceremony drew dignitaries from across the state and beyond, signaling the broad significance of the project. Hon. Rodney Ambaowei, Member Representing Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, ably chaired the occasion and commended Engr. Aganaba for setting a remarkable precedent in community-driven development. He described the initiative as a “model intervention” and called on both public office holders and private individuals to emulate such visionary gestures.
Bayelsa State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Seiyefa Brisibe, was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Williams Sawyer, who lauded the standard of the facility and pledged the Ministry’s support in ensuring it functions optimally.
