The Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) wing of jihadist fighters Boko Haram have reportedly attacked a military formation in Borno.

The attack occurred Tuesday evening at Kwamdi village in Damboa Local Government Area (LGA) of the state, DailyTrust reports.

The daring terrorists stormed the military formation in 10 utility vehicles and carted away weapons.

The ISWAP fighters also set ablaze some military equipment after a gun duel with the troops.

It was gathered that the terrorists burnt down one Amour Personnel Carrier (APC) and a gun truck as they carted away an unspecified number of weapons.

Hamidu Abu, a member of the Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF), told DailyTrust that Boko Harm targeted the military camp and not residents residing in the southern axis of the state.

According to him, the military formation was razed down by the terrorists as they made away with arms and ammunition.

“They came at about 4:00 p.m. and due to the sand storms, it was difficult for soldiers to repel them.

They burnt down the base including APC and four other vehicles,” the local vigilante said.

Meanwhile, Boko Haram memberson Wednesday attack the village of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

It was gathered that the terrorists killed at least 18 people at neighbouring Dabna village in the early hours of Wednesday.

A resident who spoke on the development said half of the people living there have migrated to neighbouring villages.

A survivor identified as Hilda Joshua noted that apart from those killed, many people sustained injuries in the attack.

He disclosed that he managed to escape to the bush but that some of his family members and neighbours were trapped in the village.
