TRACKING_____Naval officer, David Igbashal who was abducted on the 22nd February, 2020 by gunmen somewhere in Akwa Ibom State on his way home from Calabar has been confirmed dead.
The superintendent of police SP Emmanuel Ukwenya Officer in charge of zonal X squad, zone 6 Calabar, led a investigation team on Saturday 18th April 2020 to umuogodu akpu village, Ngbo LGA of Ebonyi state to recover the remains of the abducted and murdered naval officer sub lieutenant David Igbashal.The late sub lieutenant David Igbashal was abducted on February 22nd 2020 while on his way to Makurdi to conclude arrangements for his wedding. The Umuogodu Akpu village of Ebonyi state are at war with the neighboring Agila community in Benue state over boundary issues.
TrackNews gathered that 5 of these abductors suspected to be ritualists have been arrested by security operatives at a Shrine in Agbor, Delta state.Naval officer David Igbashal was a fresh graduate from the Nigerian Defence Academy NDA, and was posted to Calabar port.Igbashal was from Ikyaghev Council ward of Gwer-West local government area of Benue state.
