ASUU executives took the decision after meeting on Sunday evening.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has announced an extention of its ongoing strike action, according to a report by Vanguard.

ASUU said after its executives met on Sunday, it has decided to extend the strike by another 8 weeks (2 months).

This announcement follows the one month warning strike which expired today Monday, 14, March 2022.

According to Professor Abdulkadir Muhammad Danbazau, an official with ASUU, the latest decision to extend the strike is to allow the union and the federal government reach an agreement in other to avoid a future strike.

He said two months is enough for the apex government to do the right thing on the matter.
