[BREAKING] ASUU Strike: FG Orders ASUU back to work.

Federal Government continues to find a long lasting solution to the over seven months old versities industrial strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), The Federal Government through National Universities Commission (NUC) has ordered Vice-Chancellors to re-open universities and allow students resume lectures.

According to a report gathered by TRACKNEWS in a letter signed by the Director, Finance and Accounts of the NUC, Sam Onazi, on behalf of the Executive Secretary of the commission, Prof. Abubakar Rasheed.

“Ensure that ASUU members immediately resume/commence lectures; Restore the daily activities and routines of the various University campuses”, the letter partly reads.

It would be recalled that TRACKNEWS reported that the National Industrial Court of Nigeria last Wednesday ordered ASUU to call off its strike.

Sequel to the directive of the Industrial court mandating all lecturer to resume activities in Universities pending the decision of the Court to speed up the academic calendar, yet the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), embark to filled an appeal towards the decision of the Court.
