Former governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun, on Monday said that he will work against his party, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 Ogun State governorship election.
Track News Nigeria reports that Amosun said he is supporting the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate, Biyi Otegbeye, in the 2023 election.
Spoke during an interview with BBC Yoruba, monitored by this newspaper, Amosun however said he is backing Bola Tinubu (APC) for the 2023 presidential election.
âFor the presidential poll, I can assure you, both right, left and centre, we are supporting one person (Tinubu),â he said.
âI believe we are supporting one person. On the governorship poll, thatâs a different ball game. I donât belong there.
âI donât hide behind one finger to fight. Thatâs why people say to me âdonât say that.â On governorship, my supporters and I, we donât belong to that side.â
When asked about his choice gubernatorial candidate, Amosun replied: âBiyi Otegbeye is the person I am supporting and ADC is the party.â
