Court Of Appeal: Former President Found Dead At Residence In Nigeria
Margaret Igbeta, a former President of the Customary Court of Appeal, has tragically lost her life in her residence on Wantor Kwange Street in Makurdi metropolis.
At 72 years old, she was found lifeless in one of her rooms on Thursday night, surrounded by pools of her own blood.
Reports emerging on Friday unveiled the distressing news of her apparent assassination, with her home bearing grim evidence of the heinous act believed to have been committed by assailants.
Although security authorities are yet to identify the culprits behind this tragic incident, the Benue State Police Command promptly ordered the removal of her body from her residence.
Situated opposite Benue State University College of Medicine along Gboko road, Makurdi, the residence of the deceased jurist was visited by a flood of sympathizers hoping to catch a glimpse of the somber scene following the news of her demise.
A police officer in Makurdi acknowledged her passing to a select group of journalists, confirming that the state of her body hinted that the killing might have occurred earlier than initially reported, possibly taking place on a preceding day due to the condition of the corpse
