President Mohammadu Buhari has promised that the Federal government would pay more attention to infrastructural development in Bayelsa State.

Buhari who stated this when the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential train berthed in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, said his administration would pay attention to the request of the traditional rulers for increased infrastructural development in the state.

While reiterating his commitment to the three cardinal campaign promises, the APC made in 2015 and which he promised to sustain, the president vowed that all those who took money for power projects and did nothing would be made to refund the money.

Buhari told the massive crowd at the Ox- Bow Lake Pavilion, Yenagoa, that his administration would not relent in its determination to improve the lives of people especially in Bayelsa State.

The Minister of State for Agriculture and Rural Development, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, appealed to the president for adequate security during the Saturday, February 16 presidential and National Assembly elections so that Bayelsans could freely express their choice for the APC presidential candidate.

“Mr President, what we seek for in Bayelsa State is a level-playing ground so that Bayelsans would be able to vote and make their votes count for the APC. You have done a lot for us in Bayelsa State and the people are grateful. Mr President, you are known for your integrity and stance on corruption that is why we want you to look into the N1.3 trillion collected by the Bayelsa State government in the last three years and has nothing to show for it. Bayelsa State still remains the least developed state and the darkest state in Nigeria. We assure you that Bayelsans would come out en masse and vote for you.”

The leader of the party in the state and former governor, Chief Timipre Sylva, said President Buhari had done a lot for Bayelsans and the people were ready to express their gratitude with their votes on Saturday.

“Buhari has done a lot for us in Bayelsa State. He gave the state government bail-out which made it pay civil servants. We are aware of the road construction and the gigantic water projects at Otuoke in Ogbia local government and Ekeremor in Ekeremor local government. We want to assure you that on Saturday, Bayelsans would reward you with their votes for the love you have shown to Bayelsa State.”
