The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, says President Muhammadu Buhari has started initiating dialogue with South-East leaders to resolve the security situation in the region.

Ngige made this known on Sunday while addressing State House Correspondents after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Ngige said that discussions at the meeting equally encapsulated what the south-east is demanding from the Federal Government as well as what the government plans to do for the region to assuage the feelings of the people.

He further disclosed that complaints from the national labour union regarding a breach of the agreement had reached the President and they have begun plans to halt any further friction in the midst of the fragile situation within Kaduna State.

Meanwhile, the Biafra Nations League has warned President Muhammadu Buhari against threatening secessionist groups in the Southeast with war.

The group in its statement noted that the people of the Gulf of Guinea are now wise not to be used against the secession of Biafra as it was done in 1967.

BNL stated this while announcing its intention to hold a two-day convention to address issues affecting the Biafra struggle.

The plan of the group was disclosed in a statement jointly signed by the Chief of General Staff of BNL and Leader of Displaced Bakassi Peninsula Youths, Linus Asuquo Essien.

BNL lamented over the lack of awareness and consultation at the grassroots, especially outside the Igbo speaking areas.

The group further stated that some Nigerians are not aware of the reasons why they are fighting for the creation of the Biafra Republic.

BNL added that the convention which will hold by the end of July will come up with solutions as to how they should engage other areas at the grassroots.
