Buhari’s Nephew Explains Why He Left the APC for the PDP

Honourable Fatuhu Muhammed, President Muhammadu Buhari’s nephew who defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has explained why he did so.
The politician, who represented Katsina State’s Daura/Mai’Adua/Sandamu Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, received 30 votes, while his rival, Aminu Jamo, received 117 votes.

Muhammed told a Track News correspondent that he left the party because his opponent allegedly insulted his father.

“I received an audio recording in which their candidate (Jamo) called my father, Alhaji Mamman Dan Baffalo, by name and abused him,” he explained. President Buhari and Alhaji Mamman Dan Baffallo share a father and mother.

“They are the only males from the same father and mother out of the 26 children born by their father.” Abusing my father is therefore abusing the president.

“So, I said that since the issue has gone beyond politics to degrading my parents’ dignity, I can’t take it any longer, and it’s not binding on me to stay in the party, so I decided to leave.”
