CAF Awards: Lookman, Nnadozie Know Fate As Top Three Candidates Emerge Today

Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman and Chiamaka Nnadozie will find out today if they make the final three nominees for the 2024 CAF Awards.
The awards ceremony, set to take place on December 16 in Marrakech, Morocco, will honour the best African players, coaches, and administrators for their performances between January and October 2024.
Lookman, who has had an outstanding year with Atalanta in Serie A and the Super Eagles, is among five players shortlisted for the Men’s Player of the Year award.
He helped Atalanta win the Europa League in May and played a crucial role in Nigeria’s run to a silver medal at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Lookman’s 11th goal of the season scored against Real Madrid in the Champions League, solidifies his place as a top contender.
He is up against Brighton’s Simon Adingra, Guinea’s Serhou Guirassy, Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi, and South Africa’s Ronwen Williams.
For the Women’s Player of the Year award, Nigeria’s Chiamaka Nnadozie, the current Africa Goalkeeper of the Year, is in contention to retain her title. She also hopes to be named Women’s Player of the Year.
Her competitors include Zambia’s Barbra Banda, Malawi’s Tabitha and Temwa Chawinga, and Morocco’s Sanaâ Ms – soudy.
