TRACKING >>A 61-year-old catfish farmer, Mr. Jeremiah Obifor, has been arrested for allegedly chopping off the hand of an 11-year-old boy, Goodluck Amechi, with a machete over allegation of stealing.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Bala Elkana, explained that on June 7, Doris Isaac reported at Okoko Police Station that her foster son, Amechi, was attacked with a machete by Obifor. She reported that in the process, the old man succeeded in chopping off the right hand of the boy.

He said: “The victim was rushed to Igando General Hospital. The suspect alleged that he saw the victim around his fish pond and thought that he came to steal his fish, which was why he attacked him. Investigation is ongoing and the suspect will be charged to court.”
