A Chinese national seen in a viral video interacting with Nigerian Mobile Police (MOPOL) officers in Kaduna has denied allegations of bribery, stating the encounter was misinterpreted.

In a statement issued by Mr. Jiang, the Chinese delegation clarified that no bribe was offered or requested, describing the incident as a goodwill gesture in appreciation of the officers’ professionalism.

The statement emphasized that the exchange, which was openly captured, stemmed from a cultural tradition of expressing gratitude and was not intended as a payoff.

The delegation apologized for the public misunderstanding and reaffirmed their commitment to Nigeria, requesting continued security support for their operations.
