Close ranks, work for the PDP in 2023, Ekpenyong appeals to Wike and others

Senator Chris Ekpenyong of Akwa Ibom North West senatorial district has urged Rivers State Governor Nysom Wike and his supporters to consider the party’s interests and work for its victory in the 2023 general elections.

Wike, according to the former Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, is a devoted party member who has made significant sacrifices for the party.

In an interview with Track News, Ekpenyong urged party faithful who were dissatisfied with the outcome of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, national convention to set aside their grievances and work for the party’s success.

He went on to say that the state of the country necessitates commitment and sacrifice from everyone in the PDP.

“I am calling on all party faithful, leaders, and stakeholders to remain steadfast and committed to Nigerians’ yearnings and aspirations, which is for the PDP to rescue our dear country from this near collapsed state come 2023,” he said.

“And this vision should be the PDP’s top priority at this point.” All party members should put aside any grievances or disappointments from the previous convention in order for the party to win the election next year.

“This call is in response to statements made by some leaders who were disappointed with the outcome of the previous convention, particularly the selection of the vice presidential candidate.” I implore them to lay down their swords and rest assured that a victory for the PDP is a victory for all Nigerians.

The goal should not be who occupies what, but how the party will emerge victorious, because once there, we will all realize that the umbrella is large enough to accommodate all and all interests.

“Governor Wike is one of those who has made enormous sacrifices for the party’s survival, even when others have given up.” I would like to specifically call on Governor Wike, a loyal party man, a great party supporter, and a brand ambassador of what the PDP government represents, to continue to show solidarity with the party’s affairs.

“He has been a member of the party since the beginning of his political career.” He has established himself as a performer as well as a strong voice of the PDP on the political scene. He will never be forgotten.

“Based on his performance as governor of Rivers State, Wike is presidential material.” After Atiku Abubakar, Wike will be the next President of Nigeria.

“The PDP is the only organic party in Nigeria that understands how to solve Nigerians’ problems.” With the amended 2022 electoral law, the PDP will be unstoppable in 2023.”
