The Tracknews.ng has covered a run-for-your-dear-life race in Kwara State as heavy gun shots are being heard around Oyun Baptist High School (OBHS) Ijagbo, a community in Offa Kwara State on this day Thursday, 3rd of February 2022 by unknown gunmen.

The school popularly known for her academic excellence was established in 1972 and has its location at the Ajase Ipo Road, Opposite former Okin Biscuits Industry in Ijagbo-Offa Kwara State.

As noted by Offa TV, It was alleged that the cause of the hubbub was proclamation made by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Kwara State Chapter that no Muslim student must come to the school with her Hijab on as seen on a released flier pasted on the school’s main entrance gate. The order was however extended to all other Christian mission schools in Kwara State.

It is gathered that this was declared by the school authority at the wee hours of 17th January, 2022 and it was pasted on the entrance gate of the school last week for emphasis. The flier reads that: “Say No To Use of Hijab…” The students are from the day of the announcement prohibited to set their legs into the premises if they appear with the Islamic hijab.

On consultation with the Principal and Baptist Elders of the Oyun C.A.N., the parents turned them down on the ground that the Kwara State Government has no right to claim a sole ownership of the school and thus any action that it intends to take must be in compliance with the dictates of the school.
