Coronavirus: Lawmaker begins distribution of free hand sanitisers, others to constituents.

TRACKING____The member representing Brass constituency ii in the Bayelsa State house of assembly, Hon. Timi Agala-Omubo has commenced the distribution of hand sanitisers, hand gloves and face masks to his immediate constituents.

He said as a member of the state house of assembly he was doing its best to stop COVID-19 from getting to the state and his constituency adding that he would not relent in that direction.

He urged residents of the state and his constituents to remain calm and vigilant, following the detection of the case of Coronavirus brought in by an Italian in neighborhooring states.

He further advise the general public to disregard rumour about the virus adding that they should only believe information from reliable and authorised sources.

Hon. Agala encouraged the residents observe strict personal and environmental hygiene as a measure of curtailing infectious diseases.

He also urged residents to desist from kissing, handshake, hugging and other intimate activities that would put them at risk of the disease during this period.

A cross section of constituents, who spoke to TrackNews reported commended the quick response of the honourable member to check and prevent the spread of COVID-19 to the constituency.

They urged religious leaders in country, state, local government and the constituency to support government’s efforts at curbing the spread of the disease through prayers and sensitisation of their congregations on the preventive measures and symptoms of the disease.

Mr. Tariworio Tekena, a resident said the initiative would go a long way to prevent and check the spread of the disease.

Similarly, Mrs. Margaret Oweifa, and Mr. Pius Ibiemo, all commended the lawmaker for the items and called for its sustenance across the constituency to achieved the desired result.
