Count us out of criminal activities – Enugu West Youths back Gov Ugwuanyi, others

Youths from Enugu West Senatorial Zone have expressed their unflinching support to Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s administration.

They made the declaration during the Enugu West Youths Leadership Summit, where they passed a vote of confidence in the Governor.

In a communique issued after the summit, the youths said the Governor had through his peace initiatives ushered in development, security and freedom in the State.

The communique was signed by Comrade Ebube Samuel Nebo, the President General and Convener, Ozo Okwu Nnabuike, Secretary General, Hon Israel Ani, Publicity Secretary, Comrade Ike Augustine Izuchukwu, Udi Representative and Sir C.C Uche, Awgu Representative.

They equally hailed the good representative capacity of the National Assembly members from the area, in the person of Sen. Prof Ike Ekweremadu CFR, Rt. Hon. Toby Okechukwu, Rt. Hon. Dennis Oguerinwa Amadi.

The youths dissociated themselves from all forms of criminal activities, declaring that they would never be used to destroy their homes.

The communique read in part:

“The summit appreciates and celebrates the quality leadership of His Excellency Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi Gburugburu. The peace, development, security and freedom we enjoy in Enugu, is a clear testimony of his humane and compassionate leadership. We celebrate you, His Excellency.

“The summit appreciates and celebrates the quality representation of our able Senator, Sen. Prof. Ike Ekweremadu CFR – Ikeoha Ndigbo whose quality representation cannot be rivaled. IKEOHA magnanimity cuts across the senatorial district. This is very unprecedented in Nigeria politics today.

“We equally celebrate our beloved members of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Toby Okechukwu and Rt. Hon. Dennis Oguerinwa Amadi. We call them “empowerment champions” and “alert masters”. Indeed, every nook and crannies of Enugu West feels and celebrates their quality representations.

“The summit took time to pass a vote of confidence in the Executive Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Gburugburu), Ezeudo for his good governance, youth inclusive government and the peace we enjoy in Enugu State.

“The summit equally passed vote of confidence in the Distinguished Senator Prof. Ike Ekweremadu CFR – Ikeoha Ndigbo. The summit in the same vein, passed their vote of confidence in Rt. Hon Toby Okechukwu member representing Aninri, Awgu and Oji River at the federal House of Representative and Rt. Hon. Dennis Oguwerinwa Amadi, member representing Udi/Ezeagu constituency, Federal House of Representative for their quality representations.

“The summit laments that the gains achieved by this administration in youth involvement in governance and political leadership seems to be threatened by recent insecurity that have engulfed the South East and by extension, Enugu State. We reiterate that violence has never solved any grievance.

“The youths of Enugu West dissociates ourselves from any form of violence, banditry, terrorism, kidnapping and other criminal activities of the unknown gun men rampaging the society. We cannot partake in destroying our home.

“The summit advocates for greater participation of the Enugu West youths in all processes leading particularly to running for elective positions (Not too young to run), party politics and nomination of candidates for the 2023 election.

“The entire youths of Enugu West enjoin the peace loving Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi Gburugburu and Distinguished Sen. Prof. Ike Ekweremadu to continue to maintain the peace, cooperation and love they share.

“We wish to remind them that the friendship has a long sweet history and thus should not allow anything whatsoever to come in between them. It is pertinent to reiterate here, that their peace and peaceful cooperation is our future. Please His Excellences, secure this future for us.”
