Covid 19: Lawmaker Provide Stipend to the Elderly.

TRACKING____The Majority Leader of Ogbia Legislative Assembly in Bayelsa State Hon. Prince Okenema has commenced the distribution of stipends to the elderly in his immediate Ward.

He said as a member of the of Ogbia Legislative Assembly and the Majority leader he was doing his little best to reach out to our fathers and mothers at this period when everywhere is lockdown, adding that he would not relent in that direction.

Hon. Prince urged residents of the state, local government and his Ward to remain calm and vigilant, following the detection of the case of Coronavirus brought in by an Italian in neighborhooring states.

He further advise the general public to disregard rumour about the virus adding that they should only believe information from reliable and authorised sources.

He use the medium to encouraged the residents observe strict personal and environmental hygiene as a measure of curtailing infectious diseases.

He also urged residents to desist from kissing, handshake, hugging and other intimate activities that would put them at risk of the disease during this period.

A cross section of people from his Ward, who spoke to TrackNews reported commended the kind gesture of the councilor for remembering their parents in a time like this.

They urged religious leaders in country, state, local government and the constituency to support government’s efforts at curbing the spread of the disease through prayers and sensitisation of their congregations on the preventive measures and symptoms of the disease.
