“I used the ransom to buy food for my family” Man who buried 3yr old boy alive in Katsina says
According to a news that was published by the Punch paper online this evening, it was reported that a 30-year-old man, Abubakar Abdulaziz, who is currently in the custody of the Katsina State Police Command, for allegedly kidnapping and burying a three-year-old boy alive, during an interview with Punch correspondent, has revealed the reason he was involved in kidnapping.
While he was talking, he said he was a trader from Sabuwar Santa in Musawa Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Narrating how he kidnapped his victim, he said on that fateful day, which was the 23rd of March, this year, he went to the victim’s father’s house at Bacirawa village in Musawa Local Government Area, at around 1am in the middle of the night and kidnapped the victim, who was still sleeping and took him to a forest.
He said, “Before taking the child away, I left a note behind demanding for a ransom of N800,000. His father contacted me and we began to negotiate. I told the father of the kidnap victim to pay the sum of N800,000 but, he paid N150,000 out of the N800,000.”
When he was asked what he used money for precisely, he said he used the money he collected from the deceased’s father to buy foodstuffs for his family.
He said, “I used the ransom to buy food for my family. I actually regret my action, but I did not kill the boy. The boy was sick, and I buried him alive.”
