Man Abducts Girlfriend, Collects N2m Ransom
The Lagos State Police has launched a manhunt for one Ahmed who allegedly connived with one Uchenna Daniels to kidnap his (Ahmed’s) girlfriend, Hannatu Kabri.
The victim was kidnapped on March 31 in Abuja and taken to Lagos. She was later set free after her parents paid a N2m ransom.
Lagos police spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin stated that a manhunt was launched after the case was reported and one of the suspect, Daniels was successfully apprehended.
He stated further that efforts were being made to apprehend one Biliya who allegedly participated in the crime.
He said: “On 31st of March, 2022 at about 1400hrs (2pm), intelligence gathered revealed that one Uchenna Daniels, 30, kidnapped one Miss. Hannatu Kabri, 22, in Abuja and fled to Lagos.
“Operatives of the command tracked and arrested the suspect, Uchenna Daniels, at Allen Avenue, Ikeja. The suspect revealed that the victim’s boyfriend one Ahmed and one Biliya planned the kidnap with him and collected a ransom of N2 million in Kaduna through a Bureau de Change from the parents of the victim before she was released.
“He added that they used a toy gun to commit the crime. Investigation is ongoing to arrest other fleeing suspects.”
