Suspected Cultist Who Fled Custody In August 2021 Rearrested With Welder Who Cut His Cuffs
A suspected cultist identified as Wasiu Opeyemi, who fled police custody of the Lagos State police command in August 2021 has now been re-arrested.
Disclosing this on social media, the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said the welder who helped him cut off his handcuff when he escaped was also arrested.
‘’Suspected cultist, Wasiu Opeyemi, escaped from police custody in August, 2021 in handcuffs.
Last week, he was rearrested alongside Aliu Tijani, the welder who cut off the handcuffs when he escaped the first time.
They have both been arraigned and are currently in remand.”
