Yobe State Businessman Arrested For Allegedly Killing Friend Over Loan Dispute
Police in Yobe State have arrested 24-year-old businessman Yunus Isa in connection with the death of his friend and business partner, Lawan Adamu. Reports suggest that Isa allegedly killed Adamu to avoid repaying a N500,000 loan.
Both men were traders in Damaturu, the capital of Yobe State, specializing in engine oil and lubricants. Isa reportedly took the loan under the pretense of starting a new outlet, promising a profit-sharing agreement. However, he used the money to marry instead.
After failing to remit the agreed-upon profits, Adamu demanded the return of his capital. In a turn of events, Isa lured Adamu to a secluded area in Shago Tara and stabbed him multiple times. The incident occurred on Sunday, September 15, and Isa was arrested the following day on September 16.
