Mohammed Oluwatimileyin Taoheed reports,

Track News Nigeria has learnt that a Criminal Court in Benin City remanded seven suspects over their involvement in the a fresh cult crisis in the Benin metropolis on this day, 1st July 2022.

Our correspondent says the seven suspects are arrested for their resurgence of cult-related clashes. They were remanded in prison custody by Hon. Justice Efe Ikponmwonba, sitting in Criminal Court 1, Benin City.

The suspects being: Esosa Eregeorowo, Frank Obaze, Ministrer Godwin, Jeremiah Timothy, Jimoh Lasisi, Osasu Idehen, and Idehen Marvis, were arraigned for conspiracy to commit murder, murder, and membership of an unlawful society.

Ruling on an application motion brought by the Prosecutor, the court ordered that the suspects be remanded at the Oko Correctional Centre in Benin City, pending legal advice from the office of the Director of Public prosecution Edo State.

Recall that Track News Nigeria reports that Edo State has witnessed renewed Cult clashes after almost a year of peace.

It was gathered that the renewed cult clashes resulted from an individual leaving his present cult for a rival gang. This did not go well with his former gang, resulting in a bloodbath.
