Cyprus Cup: Super Falcons Face Belgium, Austria, Slovakia In Group C

African champions, the Super Falcons of Nigeria will face Belgium, Austria and Slovakia in Group C of the 2019 edition of the Cyprus Cup – an invitational tournament, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

The Super Falcons will use the Cyprus Cup invitational tournament

  • to fine-tune their strategies ahead of the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.
    The West Africans are drawn against hosts France, Norway and Korea Republic in Group A for the World Cup

    Thomas Dennerby’s charges are third most ranked team (39th) in the world in the group according to the last FIFA women’s ranking.

    Super Falcons opponents in the Cyprus Cup, Austria, are ranked 23rd in the world, Belgium 25th, while Slovakia are ranked 45th.

    Czech Republic, Korea DPR, Finland and the Banyana Banyana of South Africa are in Group A of the Cyprus Cup.

    Hungary, Mexico, Italy and Thailand are the four teams in Group B

    The tournament will be played between February 25 and March 7 2019.
