Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports

Amos Onakevgbagbe, a US-based lawyer and publisher of news medium Caracal Reports in New York and Nigeria, has demanded that the three major political parties contesting the presidential election in 2023 declare their assets and release their health fitness certificates and academic certificates.

All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar; and Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi are among the candidates affected.

According to him, if the candidates do not make the information public, they will face legal action in a court of law.

According to the US-based lawyer, Nigerian citizens have a fundamental right to know the assets, health, and academic credentials of whoever will lead the country’s affairs beginning in 2023.

This, he claimed, would either encourage or discourage citizens from considering voting for any of the candidates.

“The office of the president of Nigeria is a public office, so whoever runs for this office must allow citizens to know everything about him or her,” he said. You have decided to run for this office because you want to be available to citizens’ calls and requests, so you are not expected to keep anything from them.

“On this note, I demand that Tinubu, Atiku, and Obi disclose their health fitness certificates, academic qualifications certificates, and declare their assets to the public, and failure to do so within one week will result in a court action against them.”
