Rotimi Amaechi, the immediate past Minister of Transportation and a former presidential aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has stated that some of the delegates who voted at the APC’s special convention are now regretting their decisions.

Amaechi, a former governor of Rivers State, also pleaded with clerics to pray for ordinary Nigerians to be able to elect a president who would solve the country’s problems.

He spoke at the 60th birthday celebration of Apostle Eugene Ogu, General Overseer of Abundant Life Evangel Mission, in Port Harcourt over the weekend.

Amaechi stated that some of the convention attendees took money and made decisions, and that they are now regretting their choices.

“Those who voted in the APC primaries, who are they?” Amaechi asked. They are regular Nigerians. The small sum of money they received solved their immediate problem; however, they now claim they made a mistake, and you are hearing conflicting reports.

“If you are praying for us, please pray for the country’s leadership, but also for ordinary Nigerians to be able to choose the right president to govern the country.”

“Those Bishops you saw (at Shettima’s unveiling) may not be Bishops, but they are Christians.” Please pray for ordinary Nigerians. I am not joking when I say that you should vote for APC. May God grant you the ability to vote for the right candidate who will change Nigeria.

“Giving money will not solve Nigeria’s problem.” The solution to Nigeria’s problem is for all of you to rise up.

“They said Amaechi is not a good man when I was giving contracts and money, and I left office now, what am I?” He is a saint. When you marry two wives, you know which one is superior.

“People are now saying that insecurity was not this bad when Amaechi was here.” Remember, I was always chasing those criminals through the bushes. I’ll come looking for you if you kidnap someone. I’ll call the security heads, and we’ll go into the bush together to find the man. Kidnapping is now natural; you expect to be kidnapped. Nobody gives a damn.”
