TRACKING____The sporting world would all have eyes on the rematch between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder when they both face off for the World Boxing Council (WBC) and Ring Magazine heavyweight titles on Saturday, February 22nd at the MGM Grand Arena Las Vegas.

Fury will be fighting as the gypsy king on behalf of the United Kingdom while Wilder who is the champion will be fighting for the United States of America.

Wilder, however, has previously revealed that his roots are from Africa. The revelation is not just because of his skin colour but also because of research and additional information.

Wilder who is 34-years-old was given birth to in Tuscaloosa, Alabama United States of America. He, however, revealed in the build-up to the first fight with Fury at the Staple Center in 2018, Wilder revealed that he is part-Nigerian.

He said, “It can be an alter ego. It can be a spirit. It may be an ancestry spirit. Who knows? I’m part-Nigerian.”

The revelation about hailing from the West African country is not a sudden occurrence as he previously took to Twitter on March 25, 2017, that he is Nigerian boy as indicated in his post which came with infographic evidence of a hereditary test conducted through research.

The message by Wilder by Twitter said, “My Family is huge and we’re all over the world, but there’s one thing for sure my African Roots are STRONG. #NigerianBoy #BombZquad.”

In the test carried out by Wilder, it was shown that he is 83% from Africa and of the countries is his from Nigeria ranked highest with 32%. Other probabilities are Togo and the Benin Republic in second place with 29%. Cameroon and Congo come in at third with 9%.

With the evidence pointing to the fact that Wilder is Nigerian, he represented the United States of America at the 2008 Olympic Games where he won a Bronze medal.

While Wilder holds the WBC belt, Anthony Joshua holds the World Boxing Association (WBA), International Boxing Federation (IBF), World Boxing Organization (WBO), International Boxing Organization (IBO) titles in the heavyweight division.

Joshua’s parents hail from Nigeria even though he fought for Great Britain and won Gold at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Joshua who was born in Watford is getting closer to his Nigerian roots from presenting President Muhammadu Buhari with his titles after reclaiming them from Andy Ruiz.

He has since stepped it up with the registration for Nigeria’s identity card at Nigeria’s National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) he has also visited Oba Dr. Adewale Ajayi and his crown prince Joseph Bayley Temiloluwa Joshua at the Palace of the Akarigbo of Remo in Sagamu
