Speaker Of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, yesterday formally announced his defection from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Dogara returned to his former party since September and picked up its ticket back to the House.

But at yesterday’s plenary, which he presided and announced a long adjournment of the House, till February 19, speaker announced his return to the PDP.

According to him, he left the APC as a result of irreconcilable differences, and that the announcement had become necessary to straighten the records. Others who announced their defection from the APC to the PDP were Hon. Ahmed Yerima and Hon. Edward Pwajok.

Meanwhile, the House has adjourned till February 19, to enable the lawmakers campaign and participate in next month’s general elections
