Persuaded by series of faceless and clearly sponsored articles against the clear successes of the current administrator of the Presidential Amnesty program, a former revered spokesman and former President of the ijaw youth Council respectively have jointly condemned the deliberately orchestrated media attacks on one of their own as a mischievous and unwarranted attacks on the good milestone recorded by Dr Dennis Otuaru since he assumed as head and Administrator of the Amnesty program.
Comrade Udengs Eradiri and Comrade Barr. JP Owoupele, both veterans of the struggle for the emancipation of the ijaw people and by extension the Niger Delta, jointly decried what it describes as an unethical and unending transactional media war against one who is silently getting things properly done since the exit of their last in house leader Dr Kingsley Kuku.
Dr Dennis has already proved sceptics wrong with his modest and persuasive success recorded in the short period he has been at the helm of affairs of this critical intervention agency of government.
Udengs and Owoupele warned that this trend is not only dangerous but cast aspersions on the integrity of our people given that the attacks are home contrived by characters whose actions are far from genuine especially against the run of people oriented successes achieved under the leadership of Dr Dennis Otuaru. The duo commnded the timely increase of the funding for the program and assured the President that these funds under Dr Dennis will be properly and judiciously utilised for the advancement of the core objectives of the program.
In the words of Barr Owoupele, ” an agency whose birth was neccessitated by very severe and dire circumstances needs proper funding to meet its core mandate . It is, therefore, unambiguously timely and courageous and a clear testimony of peoples oriented understanding of governance by Mr. President, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to timeously increase the budget of the Amnesty Program. But what is even more endearing is the undisputed fact that even with the meagre funding preceeding this rational increase, the Adminiatrator , Dr Dennis Otuao has shown efficient and judicious use of funds without the known proficlligacy associated to the office in the near past”.
It, therefore, boldly called on all patriotic ijaws, responsible elites, and leaders of thought to join hands with Dr. Dennis to actualize our age-long expectations as a people.
In conclusion, it bemoaned the unprofitable transactional attacks and submits that soon, ijaw Nation will rise against such evil and self serving elements whose stock in trade is to create imaginary crisis and serial attacks for profit end negotiations. They should note that the days of fear induced negotiations are over as Dr Dennis being a proud creek product, whose management of the office has been transparent and people serving will not bow to such antics but will remain focused in delivering good leadership that caters for the needs of the delegates and foster endearing peace and prosperity in tandem with the renewed hope policy direction of Mr President.
