Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports

The Abuja-Kaduna train passengers’ release negotiator, Tukur Mamu, and media consultant to the Kaduna-based Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, were both targets of a lawful search warrant, according to the Department of State Security (DSS), which announced the execution of it yesterday.

Dr. Peter Afunanya, the DSS spokesman, said in a statement that security services found evidence including military equipment and substantial sums of money in various currencies and denominations.

“So far, the right security authorities have carried out lawful search warrants at Mamu’s home and workplace. Incriminating items, including military gear, were found during the procedures.

“While further investigations continue, Mamu will, without a doubt, have a day in court,” the statement read. “Other items include substantial sums in various currencies and denominations as well as financial transaction instruments.
Mamu was detained on Wednesday in Cairo, Egypt, according to the DSS.

In a statement, the organization said that Mamu was being held by the DSS as “a person of interest”.
He was detained, according to a statement from the DSS in Abuja, in order to respond to inquiries about an ongoing investigation into security-related issues.
“The self-described Kaduna train hostage negotiator, Tukur Mamu, has received a flood of inquiries about his arrest or lack thereof, according to the Department of State Services (DSS).

This is to certify that Manu was detained as a person of interest by Nigeria’s international allies in Cairo, Egypt on September 6, 2022, as he was traveling to Saudi Arabia. Today, September 7, 2022, he was brought back into the nation and placed under the service’s custody, he added.

The public may want to take note that the law will appropriately take its course, according to the statement from the DSS signed by Dr. Peter Afunanya. “The act followed a request by Nigeria’s military, law enforcement, and intelligence community to their foreign partners to bring Mamu back to the country to answer critical questions on ongoing investigations relating to some security matters in parts of the country.
