Chairman, Local Organizing Committee and Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shuaibu has maintained that the 2020 National Sports Festival will be shut down by Noon Tomorrow (Friday) if commitment is not gotten from the Federal Government on release of funds.
He made this known at a News Briefing at the Media Center for the Games at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.
Mr. Shuaibu maintained that the Main Organising Committee Secretariat will be shut down by Noon today (Thursday) owing to the situation.
He explained that the move was because Edo State is cash strapped as it could no longer meet its obligation to vendors such as caterers and others for the Games.
