16 suspected internet fraudsters have been arrested by operatives of the Benin Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in an early morning raid on Saturday, June 22.

In a statement released on Facebook, the anti-graft agency disclosed that the suspects, aged between 20 and 30, were arrested at their hideout in Ughoton and Udu communities, Warri, Delta state.

Tracknews.ng gathers that the arrests were made sequel to an intelligence report.

Items recovered from the suspects at the point of arrest include laptop computers, iPhones, Android phones, ATM cards, and four exotic vehicles – Luxus ES330, GLK 4 Matic, Luxus RX 330 and Luxus ES350.

The EFCC pointed out that the development is in line with the directive of its executive chairman, Ibrahim Magu, to rid the entire country of internet fraud and cyber crime.

According to the anti-graft agency, the suspects made useful statements and will soon be charged to court.
