The Kaduna Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 11 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud. The arrests took place on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at White Hotel in Chanchangi Local Government Area of Niger State. According to the EFCC, the operation was based on credible intelligence linking the suspects to fraudulent online activities.

During the raid, law enforcement officials recovered two vehicles and 13 mobile phones of different brands from the suspects. The EFCC assured the public that the operation was carried out professionally and in full compliance with the law. The agency also dismissed any allegations of misconduct during the arrest.

The suspects are currently in custody as investigations continue. The EFCC has stated that once the investigations are completed, the individuals will be formally charged in court. The agency reaffirmed its commitment to combating cybercrime and bringing those involved in fraudulent activities to justice.

The EFCC has been actively cracking down on internet fraud across Nigeria, with multiple arrests in recent months. The agency continues to encourage citizens to report suspicious financial activities and cooperate in efforts to curb cybercrime.
