The Speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon Adebo Ogundoyin has disclosed that he benefited from the wealth of experience of the Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon. Funminiyi Afuye.

The news of the death of the Speaker was announced a few hours ago.

Track News reports that the Speaker died in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday.

Ogundoyin explained that the Speaker was one of the best State Assembly Speakers in the country.

He added that he benefited from the wealth of experience of the deceased.

Ogundoyin in a statement made available to Track News on Wednesday, said that he was stunned when he learnt of the sudden death of Afuye.

He commiserated with the Ekiti State Government, the Ekiti State House of Assembly and the people of the State over the death of the Speaker.

“The death of Hon Funminiyi Afuye was shocking.

“He was one of my closest friends in the Conference of Speakers and I have benefitted immensely from his wealth of experience as a one time Commissioner in Ekiti State, and two time member of the State Assembly.

“I will surely miss him. All of us will miss his political experience and elderly dispositions to affairs. May God rest his soul eternally,” he wrote
