Ekpoudom: I remain APC candidate for Akwa Ibom North West

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Akwa Ibom North West (Ikot Ekpene) Senatorial District, Udom Ekpoudom, a retired deputy inspector General of Police (DIG), has said he remains the authentic and only validly nominated candidate and under no circumstance will he sell or trade the ticket.

He described a report that he has adopted and endorsed the former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, for the election as false, totally misleading and a propaganda.

In a statement signed by Mr Peter Udiong, Director of Media and Publicity, Udom Ekpoudom Senatorial Campaign Organisation, the APC senatorial candidate noted with dismay that the report in a newspaper(not The Nation) of Friday 30 – Sunday January 1, 2023, which alleged that he (Ekpoudom) has adopted Akpabio, is the latest propaganda to deceive the people.

According to the statement, the mandate given to DIG Udom Ekpoudom as the party’s flagbearer in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District is not for sale to the highest bidder. “It belongs to the people and is held in trust for the people, a position the Court of Appeal affirmed when it declared DIG Udom Ekpoudom as the lawfully nominated APC candidate for the February 25, 2023 election”
