Twitter owner, Elon Musk has announced some major feature additions to the microblogging platform.

He said Twitter will get video, audio calls and encrypted chat features soon.

He disclosed this in a tweet on Wednesday morning.

Musk said with the latest version of Twitter, users can reply to any message in a thread.

He said the encrypted DMs V1.0 trial will commence on May 11, 2023.

He, however, explained that the voice and video chat features would not necessarily mean giving out users’ phone numbers.

Musk wrote, “Coming soon will be voice and video chat from your handle to anyone on this platform, so you can talk to people anywhere in the world without giving them your phone number.”
