Minority leader of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rasheed Elegbeleye, lost out at the primary.

Elegbeleye, who refused all entreaties to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC), lost the ticket to Akintola Olarenwaju by polling 18 votes.

Olarenwaju got 22 votes in the election held in Ikare-Akoko.

Speaker Abia State House of Assembly, Chinedum Orji, emerged as the candidate for Umuahia/Ikwuano Federal Constituency.

Orji was declared the winner after polling 86 votes. His closest rival, Obi Aguocha, polled eight votes.

In Delta, Mr Ndudi Elumelu, secured a return ticket as PDP candidate for a third term to represent the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency.

He polled 80 votes out of the total votes cast by 132 delegates during the House of Representatives primary elections held in Asaba, Delta.

His closest rival, Princess Pat Ajudua, polled 35 votes while Mr Kanyinebi Mobushi got 17 votes.

In Kaduna State, the primaries were yet to start in most venues as of 7:00 pm.

The exercise was completed in only two state constituencies as of the time of filing this report.

In Osun State, the exercise was marred by irregularities as some delegates were abducted by gunmen.

TrackNews gathered that delegates were abducted in Ora-Igbomina, Ila, Ikire, Otan, Igbajo and Akesin communities thereby making it impossible for them to vote for their preferred candidates.
