TRACKING_____SENATE President Ahmad Lawan has praised Akwa Ibom State Governor Udom Emmanuel for his political tolerance.
He described the governor “as a very decent and tolerant leader”.
Lawan spoke on Sunday at the 60th birthday/thanksgiving service of the Senator representing Eket Senatorial District, Dr Akon Eyakenyin.
It was held at the Destiny International Mission, Ewet Housing Estate, Uyo.
The Senate President said the ninth Senate stood for a different kind of politics.
He said: “It is defined by how to reach the desired destination in service delivery, devoid of partisanship.
“Governor Emmanuel represents such fresh disposition.”

The governor said he would focus on governance rather being distracted by the politics of succession ahead of 2023.
He praised Lawan’s leadership style, describing the Ninth Senate as one of the most peaceful in the history of Nigeria’s democracy.
Emmanuel congratulated Senator Eyakenyi on her 60th birthday, commending her for acknowledging God as her source of life.
He prayed for God’s help to enable her to accomplish greater things.
While thanking God for his benevolence, Senator Eyakenyi expressed gratitude to God for attaining 60.
She thanked the Governor and his wife Martha for their support, saying she remains indebted to the people of the 12 local government areas of the Senatorial District who ensured her victory.
