The leadership of the Eniwari community in Southern Ijaw local government area of Bayelsa State has expressed deep appreciation to Governor Douye Diri for the significant progress being recorded on the ongoing Angiama–Eniwari road project.
Community leaders described the pace of work as impressive and commended the administration for prioritizing infrastructure that connects and benefits rural communities.
During a visit to the project site, His Royal Highness, King Darius Job the Amananaowei of Eniwari, along with other chiefs from the community, conveyed their gratitude to the governor, the supervising ministry, and the contractor handling the project. They emphasized that the swift pace of construction demonstrates the government’s commitment to delivering tangible development to the people of Bayelsa.
The community leaders highlighted the importance of the road, stressing that once completed, it will not only ease movement between Angiama and Eniwari but also boost economic activities in the surrounding areas. They noted that road infrastructure has been one of the major challenges for rural communities in the state, and the ongoing project has rekindled hope that the current administration is determined to address long-standing developmental needs.
In their remarks, the chiefs also praised Governor Diri for what they described as a passionate drive for the overall progress of Bayelsa State. They said the governor’s emphasis on infrastructure, education, and community development has set a new standard in governance, one that prioritizes the welfare of the people.
King Darius Job, speaking on behalf of the community, offered prayers for the governor and his administration, asking for God’s protection and continued wisdom to guide their decisions. According to him, the governor’s policies reflect a clear vision for the state’s prosperity, and the Angiama–Eniwari road is just one of several projects that will leave a lasting legacy.
The community leaders further urged Bayelsans from all walks of life to support the Diri administration. They argued that development is a collective responsibility and that the support of citizens is essential in ensuring that ongoing projects are completed and sustained. The chiefs maintained that unity among Bayelsans would help accelerate the government’s efforts to transform the state into what they described as the “promised land.”
The Angiama–Eniwari road project has been a longstanding demand of residents in the area, who have endured years of difficult travel conditions. Community members explained that the road will reduce travel time, improve access to markets, and facilitate social and cultural exchange between communities. Many believe that the project, once completed, will serve as a model of rural integration and open new opportunities for the younger generation.
Governor Douye Diri’s administration has continued to receive commendation for what stakeholders describe as a steady and deliberate approach to development. The government has been vocal about its commitment to equitable growth, ensuring that communities in the hinterlands enjoy the same level of infrastructural investment as urban centers.
For the people of Eniwari, the progress on the Angiama–Eniwari road stands as a clear example of governance meeting the needs of citizens. The community leaders restated their trust in the current administration, noting that the project symbolizes the governor’s vision of assured prosperity for all Bayelsans.
As construction advances, expectations remain high among residents, who look forward to the completion of the road and the benefits it will bring.
