Seun Kuti: Everyone Deserves To Be Treated With Respect And Dignity. I Hope You understand –Macaroni
Actor and activist Adebowale Debo Adedayo, also known as Mr. Macaroni, has reacted to the arrest of Afrobeats star Seun Kut by the Nigerian police
Macaroni condemned Kuti’s alleged attack on the police on his Twitter page.
However, he stated that after the incident, the country’s police force has now become aware of how it feels to be abused and suppressed.
The Macarons continued to respect Kut’s rights in their quest for justice.
“I love how the Nigerian police are quick to seek justice after being attacked. I hope such speed is also used when the Nigerian police harass and brutalize citizens.
“While I fully condemn the abuse by the police, I also condemn any abuse of Seun Kuti.
If the police are trying to fight for their rights, Seun Kut’s rights must also be respected. The law should be allowed to take its course.
“I hope the Nigerian police understand what people feel when they attack, brutalize, humiliate, and oppress us. We just want things done right.
“Everyone deserves to be treated with respect and dignity. I hope the police and citizens understand that.
“It should be good versus evil. Not police versus citizens, because we are all capable of both good and evil. If we want a better society, we must encourage the good and avoid the bad.
The lawyer, in a statement on Tuesday, accused the police of starving his client over his refusal to volunteer his statement. The Grammy-nominated saxophonist had on Monday surrendered himself to the police in Lagos after a video surfaced showing him assaulting a police officer.
