The Enugu State House of Assembly has stated its willingness to collaborate with relevant agencies to improve the state’s education standards.

Mr James Akadu, Chairman of the House Committee on Education, Science, and Technology, stated this in an interview on Tuesday in Enugu.

Akadu, who described education as critical to the growth and development of any nation, stated that his committee would ensure that the state government’s educational investments were directed in the right direction.

The lawmaker stated that his committee was given the impetus to begin its work, and that it had begun its oversight functions without fear or favor.

According to him, the duties and responsibilities of his committee are critical to the future of the state’s children.

The lawmaker stated that he would continue to collaborate with relevant agencies to promote the ‘good works’ of the Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi-led administration.

He praised the existing synergy between the executive and the legislature, promising that the legislature would continue to collaborate with the state government to make the state livable.

Akadu also promised that his committee would do everything possible to promote the state’s educational sector.

He stated that he would make greater efforts to ensure that the numerous government education projects were properly supervised.

He promised to continue sponsoring bills and moving motions that would improve the lives of women and children, particularly in the area of education.
