Former member of the Jigawa State House of Assembly, who represented Auyo constituency, Haladu Bako Uza had regained his freedom after payment of ransom.

An aide to the ex-Governor of the state Sule Lamido on social media, Mansur Ahmed confirmed his release to TrackNews Online

He said the victim was released on Saturday around 3:00 pm after the payment of N1.5m ransom to kidnappers to secure his freedom.

TrackNews Online reported that gunmen abducted the former lawmaker on his way to Auyo town, along Kano-Hadejia road on Wednesday night.

Police spokesman of the Jigawa State command ASP Lawan Shiisu Adam, confirmed the release of the victim to DAILY POST but didn’t say if the ransom was paid before the release of the victim.

He said, however, that the police had intensified a manhunt to arrest the criminals.
