Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports

Former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, congratulated governors elected on the platform of the nation’s main opposition party who received National Honours on Tuesday in Abuja.
Track News previously reported that President Muhammadu Buhari bestowed prestigious awards on notable individuals on Tuesday at the International Conference Center in Abuja.

Among those honored are PDP Vice Presidential candidate and Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Enugu State Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, and Taraba State Governor Darius Ishaku.

The PDP Minority Leader, Hon. Ndidu Elumelu, and several other party members are also on the list of nominees.

Secondus, who serves as the Technical Adviser to the PDP’s Presidential Campaign Council, said in a statement made available to journalists that the party chieftains deserved the awards bestowed upon them by President Buhari.

According to him, the individuals deserved the awards because they acted as disciplined and responsible leaders of society in their personal and public lives.

Secondus added that the country’s award of National Honours demonstrated recognition of their inherent quality and prayed to God to continue to be their guide.

Six Grand Commanders of the Order of the Niger, 55 Commanders of the Order of the Federal Republic, 74 Members of the Order of the Federal Republic, and 77 Officers of the Order of the Federal Republic were bestowed among the over 400 awardees of national honours, according to Track News.

Others included 110 Officers of the Order of the Niger, 55 Members of the Order of the Niger, 65 Commanders of the Order of the Niger, four Federal Republic Medals-First Class and four Federal Republic Medals-Second Class, and four Federal Republic Medals-Second Class.
